What is the process for opening MINOR'S DEMAT account?

Please let me know the full process for opening demat account for my minor son.

To open a MINOR’S DEMAT account, you will need to follow a specific process. Here are the steps:

  1. The natural guardian (usually the parent) needs to open the account on behalf of the minor.
  2. The guardian must provide their KYC details along with the minor’s KYC documents.
  3. The guardian needs to submit the minor’s birth certificate as proof of age.
  4. A PAN card is required for both the guardian and the minor.
  5. The guardian must sign a declaration form stating that the account is being opened for the minor.
  6. Once all documents are in order, the account can be opened with the depository participant (DP) by following the standard account opening process.
