:white_check_mark: How to Activate Trading Segments Online on Angel One

Want to activate F&O, Commodity, or Currency segments on your Angel One account? Here’s a step-by-step guide to activate segments online seamlessly.


Step 1: Access the Segment Activation Section

You can access the segment activation page in two ways:

  • Direct Link: Click here to go straight to the activation page.
  • Through the Angel One App:
    • Log in to the app using your mobile number/client ID and OTP.
    • Go to the ‘Accounts’ section.
    • Tap on the ‘Profile’ widget to find the segment activation option.

Step 2: Click on Manage Segment

Once you’re in the profile section, tap on Manage Segment to begin the activation process.


Step 3: Choose the Segment(s) to be Activated

Select the segment(s) you wish to activate:

  • Futures & Options (NSE, BSE)
  • Currency (NSE, BSE)
  • Commodities (MCX, NCDEX)

Note: Equity and Mutual Fund segments are already active by default for all demat account holders.


Step 4: Submit Financial Proof

You’ll need to submit valid income proof. You can choose either of the following methods:

Option 1: Auto-fetch Bank Statement

  1. Enter the name of your bank and the mobile number linked to your bank account.
  2. An OTP will be sent to your number by CAMSfinserv – enter it to proceed.
  3. Select the bank account you wish to use.
  4. You’ll be automatically redirected to the e-signing page.

Option 2: Manually Upload Documents

  1. Select the type of income proof from the list provided (see accepted documents below).
  2. Click on Add a file, then choose the file from your device.
  3. If the file is password protected, enter the document password when prompted.
  4. Click Proceed to E-Sign once the upload is complete.

Step 5: Complete E-Signature

  • Enter your Aadhaar number and the OTP received on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
  • Use your own Aadhaar (linked with mobile) to e-sign the request.

Step 6: Request Processing

Your segment activation request will be processed within 2–3 working days.


:warning: Important Notes

  • Segment activation is available only for individual account holders via the online process.
  • Ensure your Aadhaar is linked with your mobile number to complete e-sign.
  • Keep your Aadhaar card handy during the process.

:clipboard: Accepted Income Proofs (For Individual Accounts)

Providing income proof is mandatory if:

  • You have no existing holdings in your Angel One account.

If you do have holdings, the segment can be activated without uploading additional documents.

Valid financial documents include:

  • Last 6 months’ bank statement (must show at least 1 transaction per month)
  • Passbook (first page + last 6 months of transactions)
  • Last month’s salary slip
  • Latest ITR acknowledgement
  • Form 16 (latest or previous financial year)
  • Demat account holding statement (latest)

Note: The document must be in the name of the Angel One account holder and must carry the logo/seal of the issuing authority.


:busts_in_silhouette: For Non-Individual Accounts (Joint, HUF, Corporate)

Online activation is not available for non-individual accounts.

To activate segments for these accounts:

  1. Raise a support ticket:
  • Go to Create Ticket
  • Select Category: Account Details
  • Select Sub-category: Segment Activation
  1. Attach:
  • Filled segment modification form
  • Valid income proof (see list below)

Accepted Income Proofs for Non-Individuals:

  • Last 6 months’ bank statement
  • ITR Acknowledgement (latest or previous FY)
  • Form 16
  • Demat Holdings Statement
  • Mutual Fund Holdings Statement
  • Net Worth Certificate

Signature & Stamp Requirements:

  • HUF Account: Karta’s signature + HUF stamp
  • Corporate Account: Corporate stamp required
  • Joint Account: All holders must sign the form

  • Minor accounts
  • NRI accounts
