Sensex Falls 1,017 Pts, Nifty Below 24,850; All Sectors Slip Amid Global Weakness

Indian stock markets closed on a weaker note on September 6, with the Nifty around 24,850. The Sensex dropped by 1,017.23 points (1.24%) to 81,183.93, while the Nifty lost 292.90 points (1.17%) to end at 24,852.20.

Top Gainer and Losers

Overall, 1,359 stocks gained, while 2,422 declined, and 86 remained unchanged.

Among the top Nifty losers were SBI, HCL Technologies, NTPC, ICICI Bank, and BPCL. On the other hand, Asian Paints, JSW Steel, Bajaj Finance, LTIMindtree, and Divis Labs were the top gainers.

Sectoral Performance

All sectoral indices ended in the red, with auto, PSU banks, oil & gas, media, telecom, IT, realty, and capital goods sectors falling between 1-3%.

Oil Prices

Oil prices rose during the trading session on September 6, 2024. At 3:45 PM, Brent Crude stood at 73.09, reflecting a rise of 0.55%.
